International Year of Millets (IYOM) 2023: the United Nation’s General Assembly (UNGA) declared 2023 as International Year of Millets on 5th March, 2021.

With the aim to create awareness and increase production & consumption of millets, United Nations, at the behest of the Government of India, declared 2023 the International Year Millets (IYOM). The international year of millet gives a thriving opportunity to:

1. Increase the contribution of millet to food security.
2. Increase the global production of millets.
3. Ensuring efficient processing, transport, storage, and consumption.
4. Sustainable production and quality of millet with the involvement of the stakeholder.
